Ladies Who Lunch

One of my favorite parts of my job is the ever-changing office setting. 70% of the time I am on the road exploring New England and yesterday I was lucky to spend the day on gorgeous Cape Cod! I  attended an alumni luncheon hosted by our Cape Cod chapter and had some fun picking out my outfit.

The women who attend this lunch are older, have done and/or married well, and dress with a casual sophistication to match the ocean-side towns they live in. Having met several alums from the area before, I knew that my attire would need to be tasteful, classic and full of color. Cape Cod women (in my experience) want nothing to do with black & white garments unless it’s an evening affair.

I decided to go with my teal/kelly green Dress Barn dress that I had debated wearing for picture day.

The color is the stand out feature and the dress doesn’t require a necklace or belt. Easy peasy!

The ruffled neckline is everything!

I kept my accessories low-key with a silver and turquoise bracelet  from Mexico and a rose plated ring from New Orleans that I like to wear on my right index finger.  These (aside from my wedding rings and fitbit charge HR) were all I needed to complete my look.

For shoes I went with my favorite opened toe sling back kitten heels from Franco Sarto. I love how the natural wood wedge plays off the sleek and shiny leather.

My ensemble was well-received by the ladies who lunch and after spending a lovely day by the sea I have cemented “coast side living/retirement” at the top of my list of life goals!
