The Primetime Polish Up is my weekly post showing off my nail polish color of the week and a review of what I binged watched. I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations! Comment here or tweet to me @gingercouture1 or @JoyAttardo.
I went a tad out of the ordinary this week with my polish color. I am celebrating a birthday and wanted to reflect my celebratory mood with a little texture and shimmer! I painted a white canvas with Essie Baby’s Breath as my first color coat. I did a second color coat of Revlon Girly. The white gave a solid background for the pink and purple glitter to really pop.
Fall is my favorite time of year for four reasons:
1) Work hits that super busy fun peak where the days are over before they start and I run around like a crazy person until around Thanksgiving.
2) It s a very important time of year for fashion and I find shopping for fall/winter styles to be waaaay more fun than spring and summer.
3) Pumpkin deliciousness has arrived. Pumpkin cookies, pumpkin oatmeal, pumpkin dip, pumpkin beer. Eat and drink PUMPKIN.
Last, but of course not least…
4) New and returning TV shows premiere!
We live in a world where no one has any idea how many networks and stations their cable plans actually include and TV shows premier and conclude at all points throughout the year. Despite the quantity of TV shows available, The fall season still remains as the most anticipated time of year by avid TV show fans like myself. This is a quick rundown of where my attention will be over the next few weeks.
Top Priority Returners:
Empire (Fox) – Taraji P. Henson’s wardrobe is SMOKIN’ and the soundtrack is mostly songs performed by the cast.
How to Get Away with Murder (ABC) – Viola Davis rocks an Elie Tahari inspired desk to dinner to look. I cannot wait to see the aftermath from the cliffhanger we left off with from season one.
Scandal (ABC) – I am totally Team Jake (as of right now anyways) but once Kerry Washington gives us all a lesson in how to walk in heels in a perfectly tailored suit, I won’t care who she picks. It’s handled.
The Mysteries of Laura (NBC) – Debra. Messing. Do I need to say more? I love this corkey crime comedy and all the supporting characters. I’m like 90% team Tony, Jake could sway me in the season premier but his track record has a lot of holes and Tony can cook and looks good doing it.
Fresh Off the Boat (ABC) – 90s Flashback, hilarious. I love the perspective of the writer and Constance Wu is amazing and brings so much to the screen.
Newbies I am looking forward too:
Grandfathered (Fox) – John. Stamos. Again, is there any question here?
Quantico (ABC) – A fun, young cast portraying rising FBI agents, the trailer depicted a lot of little details that will unfold and lead us in an unpredictable direction… at least I hope this one will keep me on my toes.
Newbies I am considering but not totally on board yet:
Blood & Oil (ABC) – Chace Crawford is the only reason the show caught my attention, not sure if that is going to be enough.
Surviving Life (Fox) – Love the post grad life concept, not sure if the cast is going to capture my heart.
Hot and Bothered (NBC) – I love non-fiction shows about the entertainment industry, like UnREAL so I have high hopes here.
Life in Pieces (CBS) – All star cast if I ever saw one but it seems like all these fabulous actors are hiding a lame story line… really hope I’m wrong, I’ll let you know.
Superstore (NBC) – Intrigued by the concept (as a former retail employee) I thought Employee of the Month with Dane Cook was mildly funny but I question the sustainability of a show centered around a bargain store.
Truth Be Told (NBC) – I will always check out a show with Zach Morris Mark-Paul Gosselar but neighbors who come from different backgrounds is all we’ve got to go on for a plot line, so we’ll see.
This is just the basic cable list. I haven’t even gotten to expanded cable and premium channels yet. Thank goodness for weekends and online streaming so I can keep up with all my shows in batches. Can’t wait to hear what you’re watching!
