When my sister was pregnant with her first child she was living in Mississippi away from family + friends. We hosted a “virtual shower” for her but it definitely wasn’t the celebration that we envisioned or that she deserved. She is pretty darn awesome and always takes care of everyone else before herself!
With her 2nd bundle due in a few weeks, I decided it was the perfect opportunity throw her a surprise shower filled with love, laughter, and gifts for baby girl Ruby.
Fresh flowers (Market Basket) arranged in gold metallic mason jars (JoAnn Fabrics) | Pallet book caddy (Etsy) | Notepad, Pencil, and Chocolates (Target) in hand-stamped bags (Michael’s) | Frames (Savers) spray painted in Cherry Red (Lowe’s) | Invitation (Shutterfly)
She and her husband have the essentials from their first child, so instead of a registry, we asked everyone to bring a children’s book. Guests also had an opportunity to enter a raffle by bringing a pack of diapers to the party.
Some time, a little DIY, and creativity made for a wonderful sprinkle for mom and baby!
